Quick verdict

8.5/10 HearthBench score by the house formula, read Sep 17 and 18, 2026.

The HAVA countertop dishwasher, the R01, model TDQR01, is a 16.9 by 16.9 by 18.1 inch machine that sits on the counter, fills from a 1.8 L pitcher or a 3/4 inch garden-hose thread, and washes two place settings: 4 bowls, 4 cups, 4 small plates, 4 dinner plates and 7 spoons, forks and knives.

It was $279.99 with free shipping to the 48 contiguous states on Sep 18, 2026 at HAVA's own store, charged once.

Who this is for, and who should look at the R09 instead

Good fit

One or two people in an apartment, an RV or a rental with no dishwasher hookup
A counter with a 17-inch gap, 18.1 inches of clearance and a standard 110-120 V outlet
Anyone who would rather pour a pitcher than call a plumber
Households that run a load a day and are fine with 29 to 89 minutes of wash time

Look further first

A family of four: two place settings per load means two or three loads a day
Anyone planning to try it and send it back: returns take only an unopened unit
Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico: the store does not ship there

Frequently asked questions

Does the HAVA R01 need plumbing?

No. The 5 L tank fills from the 1.8 L pitcher in the box, or from a tap through the inlet hose, which has a standard 3/4 inch garden hose thread connector.

The drain hose runs to a sink, and HAVA's FAQ says the height between the sink and the drain hose should be less than 24 inches.
