- For an oversized or unusual opening, contact the store before ordering.
- Inside mount when the window has 2 in of depth or more, for a built-in look with the trim visible: measure the inside width at the top, middle and bottom, round each to the nearest 1/8 in and use the smallest; measure the inside height at the left, center and right and use the largest.
- Outside mount when the depth is under 2 in or uneven, or to visually enlarge the window: width is the window width plus 2 to 3 in on each side; height runs from the top mounting point to the length you want, mounted at least 4 in above the frame. French doors and sliding doors: outside mount.
- Minimum inside-mount depth, roman and bamboo: 2 in on a wooden headrail with a cordless lift, 1 7/8 in on an aluminum headrail with a cordless lift, 2 1/2 in motorized, 1 3/8 in for a French door roman shade and 1 1/2 in for a French door bamboo shade.
